National Minimum Wage Changes from 1 October 2012

Every year, in October, the national minimum wage rates change.  From 1 October 2012, you must make sure that you pay your employees at least the new minimum rates. The new hourly rates are:

  • Workers aged 21 and over - £6.19
  • Workers aged 18 to 20 - £4.98 - no change
  • Workers aged 16 and 17 - £3.68 - no change
  • Apprentices - £2.65
