Changes to food allergen law

According to research by Unilever Food Solutions, 44% of food business operators are unaware of changes to allergen laws that will take effect in December 2014.

Tonmoy Kumar, Manager of the Accounts Department of ABDS comments:
“54% of the food operators were unable to identify the allergens covered, and just one in three are prepared for the changes that will happen at the end of the year.”

Wendy Duncan, Technical Manager at Unilever said: "It's apparent from our research and queries we're getting from our customers that operators are concerned about the new legislation."
