Update on Registering as self employed

Due to recent fraudulent activities HMRC have announced that they can not register a person as self employed unless they have a valid national insurance number. If you do not have one please telephone Jobcentre Plus on 0845 600 0643 to make an appointment to arrange an interview.

There are penalties for failing to notify the HMRC as soon as you start self employment.
